As NSW opens up, we expect to see more Covid19 circulating around our community. As a medical practice, we are in the privileged position of caring for many people who are elderly, unwell or immunocompromised.

We have a strong obligation to do everything we can to protect these people from Covid19. We are happy to say that all of the staff at Surf Beach Surgery have been double vaccinated, but being in close proximity in a closed room is a high risk situation for transmission of infection, and not surprisingly, that’s how we work every day.

We know that vaccination is the single most effective way to reduce the risk of catching Covid19 and consequently passing it on, and we have consequently made some decisions regarding how we can best care for our staff and community during the next phase of this pandemic.

From Monday 11th October YOU WILL BE GIVEN A TELEPHONE CONSULTATION if you have any respiratory symptoms or fever OR have been in close contact with a known Covid19 case OR are over 16 and haven’t had a dose of any Covid19 vaccine.

It will then be up to your doctor to decide whether you need to be seen in person. After this phone consultation, if you do need to enter the surgery YOU MUST WEAR A N95 MASK (available from Bunnings), if you are unwilling to wear a mask then you are not permitted to enter the building.

Please be honest with our reception staff when making an appointment so they can make the most appropriate booking for you.

We also continue to ask that all of our patients wait outside or in the car and either knock or ring to let us know you when have arrived.

Please know that we are doing our best to care for everyone in this difficult time.
